Donate Life New Jersey at the League of Municipalities Convention in Atlantic City

Atlantic City - On November 18-20, Donate Life New Jersey participated in the League of Municipalities Conference in Atlantic City. Thousands of people stopped by our booth to learn about the importance of organ and tissue donation and over 600 people showed us their own organ donor designations!
In addition, New Jersey mayors and legislators were given the opportunity to participate in a special program to commemorate the New Jersey legislature’s passage of the Hero Act. The Hero Act promises to transform organ donation in New Jersey, increasing the number of lives saved and enhanced through donation and transplantation. Nearly 50 participating mayors and legislators taped 30-second public service announcements about the importance of organ and tissue donation. Some of the legislators shared their own personal connection to organ and tissue donation. The public service announcements will be offered to local area cable networks for broadcast as well as featured on our website.

Piscataway’s Senator Bob Smith proudly displays his donor designation on his driver’s license.
