Stories about Extraordinary People

[Photo of Samantha.]Erica Drazin

Erica Drazin is a charming, articulate bubbly middle schooler. Looking at her sparkling eyes and mischievous grin, you would never suspect that a year ago she was deathly ill and waiting for a kidney transplant. After chronic stomach pains brought her to the doctor, Erica was diagnosed with nephronaphritis. Her life was put on hold while she waited for a kidney. Erica was extremely lucky, her brother-in-law, George, was a match and donated one of his kidneys. Erica received George's kidney in June 2008 and by September 2008 she was back doing what she loves - going to school and cheerleading at Pearl R. Miller Middle School in Kinnelon.
